The prophet told the people: "Thus says the Lord of hosts, 'Consider your ways and thoughtfully reflect on your conduct!'" (Amplified Bible, Haggai 1:7). This is why we engage in Lenten practices. Lent is the 40 days before Easter. Christians participate in Lent to reflect on our ways and align them with the heart of Jesus.
